I haven't tested it properly, but sometimes when I turn on the sound there are problems with the HDMI audio: crackling and hissing, then after 1-10 minutes the problems go away and the sound works flawlessly. I have not tried another HDMI cable or another display, use this information AS IS.
And I don't remember what audio device and what program was used at that moment.
